Deacons

There are 12 active deacons serving Mendon congregation. Each serves for a 3-year term.

The office of deacon as described in the Scripture is one of "sympathy, witness, and service after the example of Jesus Christ."

Deacons minister to those who are in need, to the sick, to the friendless, to anyone in distress within the faith community or beyond. The session may delegate additional duties from time to time such as assisting with the Lord's Supper, leading prayers, reading Scripture and serving at church events.
