MENDON CHURCH OPEN HOUSE AND DEDICATION

The Mendon Presbyterian Church has moved to the corner of Route 64 and Cheese Factory Road in Mendon and has changed its name to "Mendon Church", welcoming all Christians to come and worship in The House of The Lord. Pastor for 14 years, Dr. David Smith has led the congregation on this journey. The church membership has grown dramatically, holding two services at 8:30 AM and 10:30 AM Sunday mornings. The church family and friends literally outgrew their beloved old building. The beautiful 24 acre parcel of land upon which the new church has been built was purchased by the church from a member family ten years ago. Hopes and plans are for the sanctuary to be built in three to four years.

An Open House and Dedication Service was held on September 24, 2006 and it was a holy, joyous occasion. The Mendon Gospel Choir, led by Music Ministry Director Dr. Lon Beery, welcomed everyone's arrival. They filled the Great Hall with music and performed six special musical numbers during the service, with three wonderful soloists, Nanette, Marianne and Andrew.

The Dedication Service was filled to capacity with members, friends, the church architect and the contractor. Representatives of The Genesee Valley Presbytery, State Assemblyman Joe Errigo, and Mendon Town Supervisor Moe Bickweat, all spoke during the Dedication Service at 3:00 PM.

The Open House and Dedication was a beautiful christening to launch a beautiful church!
