As an inspirational pastor and leader...
Ending each worship with:
May you have enough happiness to
keep you sweet.
Enough trials to keep you strong.
Enough friends to give you comfort.
Enough faith to give you courage.
And enough determination to make each day better than the day before.
And may the blessings of God the Father, the son and Holy Ghost be with you now and
forever, Amen.
As a pastor on vacation...
...Pastor David L. Smith acquired the nickname "Disaster Pastor", and has
supported it very well. Fortunately for Mendon, it is supported only when he goes on
vacation.
- Houston Texas - 1995
- Worst Flood of the Century - Stranded several pastors on an island the flood
created. While they were awaiting the rescue party, they sang many songs
together. Among them was "Lord Lead me to higher ground" and "God
Leads us Along."
- Florida
- Hurricane.
- Vancouver
- Heaviest snow in decades.
When he comes back from one of these vacations he chooses one of the hymns they sang
while waiting for the rescue vehicles.
[ed.: I wonder if the Pastor's middle initial stands for "Lucky"?
